Modern Childbirth Education for Modern Families

You’ve already watched the videos and read the endless blogs…At Doulas of Baltimore, we understand that videos and opinions are not what modern families are seeking from childbirth education. With your interests in mind, we have redesigned our Childbirth Education program to offer you a more personalized experience! We seek to help all expecting parents cut through the static, identify their unique birth and parenting philosophies, and confidently navigate this life experience.

Our new classes recognize the value of your time. They are taught by educators you can connect with and provide a trusted source for guidance as well as answers to your questions.

Our updated childbirth education classes offer Baltimore families many helpful tips and techniques! In addition to the knowledge of what to expect, we know that relaxation, breathing techniques, and comfort measures are major factors needed to meet the challenges of childbirth; therefore these are the primary components of our classes.

We have a variety of classes and workshops for you to choose what will best work for you. Our group classes are held in Towson and private classes in your home.  Learn more and register below!

There is also a focus on communication between partners and how to identify and communicate birth preferences.

This is a great refresher for experienced parents as well.

Birth Basics

This one-afternoon birth class is designed for those families who would like to be well-prepared for the birth of their baby but prefer a condensed class. Couples will learn about the process of labor and birth, basic comfort and relaxation techniques, medical pain relief options, potential interventions, and how to create and communicate birth preferences.

Due to the condensed nature of this class it is recommended that you schedule a class near 28-35 weeks of pregnancy.
